Your Vocabulary

Your vocabulary holds every word and phrase you have added in the language you are currently learning. It opens from a tab in the bottom bar. Each language keeps its own vocabulary: switch the language and you see a different list.

How the list works

The summary for the language, meaning how many words are learned, in progress and new plus your streak of days, lives in your profile; the vocabulary starts with a search and a row of tags. Below is the list itself: every word shows its translation, an image and its learning progress as a percentage, which tells you its state:

  • New: the word is added but has not come up in a session yet.
  • Learning: the word is in progress and its review intervals are still short.
  • Known: the word is learned and no longer enters the daily session.

Above the list there is a search that looks at both the word and its translation. If the word is not in your vocabulary, the app offers to find and add it.

What you can do with a word

A long press, or the three-dot button in the row, opens the actions menu:

  • Add a tag: file the word under a topic of your own.
  • Report a mistake: if something on the card is wrong.
  • I know this word: the word stays in your vocabulary but stops appearing in sessions.
  • Start learning over: reset the progress so the word climbs the review ladder again.
  • Remove from vocabulary: delete the word entirely.

Tags

Tags are your own topics inside one language: work, TV shows, a trip, an exam. A tag is created right in your vocabulary, you pick a colour for it, and the list can then be filtered by it with one tap.

One word can carry several tags. A tag is a label, not a separate list: the word stays in the main vocabulary and keeps taking part in sessions.

Bulk actions

The "Select" button turns on multiple selection. You can then tick several words at once and, in a single action, tag them or remove them from your vocabulary.

A word disappeared from sessions

It is most likely marked "I know this word", or already learned. Find it in your vocabulary and choose "Start learning over": the word returns to the review schedule.
