I use the VibeLing app to learn English. Recently I installed this extension too, to add words faster while I work without switching to my phone. Really loved how simple it is to use, I’ve wanted something like this for a long time

Really good app. It’s easy to learn both words and sentences, and exactly the ones I just can’t remember))

I used to feel like I was stuck in one place. Now I can at least see progress: words gradually start to feel “familiar”, then I start remembering them. Not instantly, but steadily

Then I heard about the extension and installed it to try. Damn, it’s cool. Not sure why it highlights the words from my vocabulary, but it’s really great that you can fill your vocabulary from the browser.

Respect to the author for both the extension and the app

It would be really cool to add the ability to add new words right from the examples

English: what is hardest to remember

Most English learners understand far more words than they can use. A new word from a show or a work email gets looked up once and is gone a week later — not because it was hard, but because nothing brought it back in time.

  • Phrasal verbs (get over, look after, run into) change meaning with the particle — they stick only inside a real sentence.
  • Spelling rarely tells you the sound (though, through, tough), so hearing the word matters as much as reading it.
  • One word often has several meanings — a card per meaning keeps "run a company" apart from "run a mile".

Frequently asked questions

What is the best way to learn English vocabulary with an app?
Learn the words you actually come across, not a random list: add a word, see it in examples, hear it, and review it on a spaced-repetition schedule. VibeLing does the last part for you.
Does VibeLing explain words in English or in my language?
Both: every card has an English definition and examples, plus a translation into your native language, so you can learn in English without guessing.
How many English words do I need?
Around 2,000–3,000 common words cover everyday conversation; reading and work need more. The free vocabulary size test shows where you are now.
How do I stop forgetting new English words?
Review them right before you would forget. VibeLing schedules each word automatically, so hard words come back often and easy ones rarely.
How is VibeLing different from Anki or Quizlet?
No manual cards or decks: you add a word, and the app prepares the definition, translation, examples and audio and runs the reviews itself.
Can I learn words I add myself?
Yes. In VibeLing you can add any English words and phrases yourself — from books, shows, lessons, work or everyday conversations. For every word the app builds a card with translation, examples and pronunciation.
