Games

Games are a quick way to review words when you are not in the mood for a full session. Each game has a timer, a score and a best result, and the words come from your vocabulary topped up with new ones from the shared dictionary. Games open from the main screen.

Seven games

True or False

A word is shown with a translation, and the translation may belong to something else. Swipe right for true, left for false. A run has a timer and a few lives.

Pair rush

Words and translations lie shuffled on a board and have to be matched before the timer runs out. A mistake costs a few seconds, and a cleared board is replaced at once.

Guess the picture

The app names a word and you pick the photo that fits. The faster you answer, the more points you get.

Audio sprint

The word is only spoken: the spelling stays hidden until you answer, and you choose the right translation by ear. Tap the icon to hear it again.

Build the phrase

The words of a sentence are shuffled and have to be put back in order. Sentences come from the examples on your cards.

Guess by definition

You read a definition in the language you are learning and pick the word. The word itself is hidden inside the definition, and the translation is not shown until you answer.

Spot the odd word

One word in a sentence does not belong, and you have to find it.

Which words end up in a game

By default a game mixes your words with unfamiliar ones from the shared dictionary, so it also shows you something new. Once you have enough words of your own, the run settings let you switch to "My words".

After a run the app shows where you got it wrong and offers to add the unfamiliar words to your vocabulary, from where they enter your regular sessions.
